Why You Need A Vest For Fall

With the weather slowly starting to show its cooler temperatures, there’s no guessing that naturally we want to keep warm. I am a huge advocate for maintaining that 75 degree comfort temperature around me as much as possible.

I’ve come to notice that when I get really tired or exhausted, I get cold. I don’t like wearing heavy jackets for more than a few minutes, for instances such as walking outside from place to place during the winter, or worse, when it’s so cold that you have to wear them inside. A great alternative to big heavy coats are vests. They come in all kinds of styles and fabric weights to keep you warm or cool.

In this look I’ve styled this lightweight vest as an extra added layer to my outfit. It adds dimension, variety, and just the right amount of extra shield that I needed on this sunny but windy day. I felt much more comfortable in my own skin with this vest on because it covered up my bare shoulders a little more and hid my bra strap! I don’t like wearing strapless bra’s so much. Because my top is transparent, I chose to wear this lace bralette underneath.

As most of us know, the off the shoulder trend is still going strong and continuing into fall. By adding a vest to your OTS top, it becomes a great way to transition a summer look. As I move my outfit selections into fall, I tend to keep a darker color palette going. One of my favorite color combos being olive and black. Slip on a pair of sexy pumps and you’re all set!
