Age is just a number.
Every day, women across the globe are having to deal with the pressures of society. These pressures intensify when a woman nears the age of 30. There’s something about this number that signals “nearing expiration” in the eyes of people across the globe. Often times it can raise a lot of unnecessary concerns such as “when are you getting married” or “is baby #1 on the way yet?” We start to question and doubt ourselves and we can get so caught up in making sure that we’re living up to these expectations that we forget to live life for ourselves.
I was raised by Bulgarian parents with really traditional values. Being born in Bulgaria myself but raised in California, I still grew up around people that also believed in these same values. You can definitely say that there’s always been a set of expectations set for me.
Change Your Destiny
According to my parents, I got married too early (25). But once I got married, everyone I knew across the world started asking me when baby “Addie” will arrive. I never felt like talking about it much because it was never in my immediate plans to have kids right away as a newlywed couple. It’s been several years now since I got married and to be honest, I think people got tired of asking me about babies. Every time they did, I would reply to them “it’s not a good time for us” or “i’m not ready yet.” And that became OK with most people because they’ve simply stopped asking. These people also see me living life on my own terms and have accepted that I won’t stand the pressures.
After watching “The Expiry Date” short video by #SKII, I felt so happy and found it to be so incredibly motivational and inspiring for women across the globe dealing with these age-based pressures. Thanks to the #changedestiny video and philosophy, the message of supporting women to choose their own destiny and to live life on their own terms can now spread across the globe! Darlings, we don’t have to have an expiry date!
In my own way, I’ve gone against the pressures of society by choosing to follow my heart and do what makes me happy! I strongly encourage you to do the same. My name is Adelina Perrin and #INeverExpire!

July 28, 2017 at 12:40 pmWhat a great post! I definitely think there are so many societal pressures from marriage, to kids, to everything. It’s great to see so many women take a stance against that and follow their own path and destiny and do things that are and feel right for them. I am a huge fan of SK-II and love their products. xoxo, Christine
