I’ve come to really love a peaceful quiet morning. My favorite thing is to grab my cup of warm lemon water first thing in the morning, sit in the dinet of our Airstream and look out the panoramic window into the dazzling morning sunshine. It’s a beautiful and meditative moment I’ve come to love so much.
This morning as I had my coffee and breakfast in the dinet too, I had typed a few words on here and decided to reach into the cabinet above me for some raw almonds. I forgot I had placed a loosely sealed bag of tapioca starch in there and as I reached for the almonds my hand brushed up against the bag of tapioca starch, and of course it ended up pouring over my laptop. Haha, this was no treat! Tapioca starch is super fine and dense, so I went inside our house project to use a heavy duty air compressor to clean it all off.
Staying in our Airstream onsite while building our home has been wonderful, especially on the sunny and warm days. But it’s not all glamorous. In the time we’ve spent here, we’ve had just as many rainy, freezing cold days. These kinds of days are tough for everyone. Tough on us, tough on our pets. Fiji (our Yorkie) has been living inside our 25 foot Airstream with us and every few hours he needs to go out. As you can imagine, we don’t exactly have a mud room, though we do have a standard door mat that’s usually covered by 5 pairs of shoes and lots of dirt. I suppose you can say it comes with the territory.
Our Airstream gets dirty so fast when it rains, I find myself cleaning it several times throughout the day. Since John works on our house quite a bit, he’s always trekking in dirt and we have a rule to take off all shoes inside, at the door mat. Still dirt manages to make its way to the bedroom and bathroom (which is maybe 15 feet away from the front door).
So any chance I get to dress up and spend time away from the all-encompassing house project is always good! If you guys have been following me on Instagram, then you’ve definitely seen me wearing my Shawn black bag by Hammitt every day. It’s such a great medium sized bag, but sometimes I only have my wallet and keys in there and it doesn’t fill up as I’d like. That is why I got the VIP Clutch. It’s smaller in profile and perfect for everyday and on the run. The cool thing about this bag is that it’s a clutch and can easily convert to a crossbody, just clip-on the straps and you’re set! I typically wear mine as a crossbody since I’m always on the run and using my hands.
The VIP Clutch is super wearable and this style is Hammitt’s best selling silhouette. These bags are covered with a lifetime warranty. Quality is impeccable! It is named the VIP because that’s how they feel about the women who buy their bags. It also comes in three sizes, with nearly 2 dozen shades to choose from so there’s a version for every age, budget and lifestyle.
Have any of you guys ever been inside of a newer Airstream? They can be quite awesome! We have 2 TVs, one in the kitchen/dining room, and one in the bedroom. Our airstream runs on propane (gas) so we have 3 burners and a small oven. Microwave and a medium sized fridge with freezer. There’s a lot of things I love about our airstream!
Would you guys like to see a tour?!
