Getting Ready For Valentine’s Day

Where did the week go? Ever have that feeling that time just slips away at your fingertips? This week was one of those for me.

Between working on back-end things and moving around this week – it has me thinking, how can Friday be here already?!

As I sit here typing at this cute Brazilian cafe called Brazil Arts Cafe in Santa Barbara and drinking a yummy green smoothie, I can’t help but think. Think about life, think about people, think about love …

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I’ve been feeling pink in more ways than none. This is slightly odd because I am not the biggest fan of the color pink, but the festive vibes have got a hold of me. I love reasons or even better yet, excuses to celebrate. Life and love should be celebrated daily! But once a year, we kind of make a big deal about it, and it’s fun! 🙂

Ever been on a 5+ set course dinner menu with your Valentine? One where you order a bottle of their best champagne, have pink and white balloons tied to your chairs, have glimmering lights gently hanging over your head and desserts so good, you ask for 2 more of the same? Dinner made so perfect, you forget about anyone else dining around you?

While this may sound a bit fairytale-like, in its own way, it’s just that. This was a wonderful experience I shared with my boyfriend at the time. This same man, a few years later became my husband. And while life, relationships, marriages may be imperfect, we can still have perfect moments in life or with people.

There was a time of my life where I would seek to create such moments as often as I could. Because, who doesn’t want to live in a dream 24/7?! lol. Think event planning on the daily (but on a small scale)!

Ever look back on life and think of how good things used to be? We all have 24 hours in a day, and it’s about what we choose to do with our 24 hours each and every day that matters most. Life has it’s phases, ups and downs, trials and tribulations, and at the end of the day what matters most is that you’re happy.

These days, I choose to spend my time building things other than just fairy-tale dreams but that doesn’t mean I can’t still enjoy feeling pink once in a while.
