Fishing & Beyond

Our family trip to the mountains turned out to be really fun! I love the fresh mountain air here so much; can’t get enough of it. We stayed in our family’s condo, which is nestled above a beautiful glassy lake and surrounded by tons of birch trees. The last 3 days here have been great – we hiked, played tennis, barbecued, went into the jacuzzi, went to the beach, shot guns, and fished 4 separate times. There was 5 of us fishing at all times and we had little luck catching fish this trip. It was my first time getting a license and fishing! It takes a lot of patience and technique, and sometimes, you still don’t catch a thing. At one point, I leaned over from the boat and gazed into the lake, looking through to find fishies, and saw nothing. We caught the babiest of fishes today, sardine size; it was a baby rainbow trout. It was exciting, and I thought it looked too innocent to be anyone’s meal so we released it back into the lake. The weather this weekend was pretty wild. It ranged from thunder and lightning storms to hot and dry. I really love the smell of nature after rainfall; it reminds me of my childhood. Turns out that I brought with me more shoes than I actually used – found out that my converse served me the best and paired well with most of my outfits. I love the versatility of converse, not to mention comfort! Hope you guys had a fun weekend! 🙂 xo!
